See my timeline below for the K1 Fiancee visa - can't say how long it
will take now, but when we did it last year, I would say, it was
relatively quick, compared to what we expected, the time we've seen it
take for other countries, and what with all the particulars of the
consulate there in Kingston!

Hope this helps - let me know if I can maybe answer anything else.

Best of luck.

Hey Jerome,
Looks like all is moving along well for you. You may find it's not
Jamaica Consulate that holds you up now, but NVC. I've been reading 3-4
months for all paperwork to clear through there before it gets to the
Consulate. You might check the K3 thread (long one) to see people who
are following their I-130 instead; they are all going through NVC and
might have some facts for you.

Are you still in NY or have already removed to Jamaica? How has it been?

I am in jamaica right now,and I hate it. I just want to be home with my
wife ASAP.i have a ? if you can answer for me. you already know
i have been granted voluntary departure and i know i have to file the
I-601. i hear that you have to file the I-212 to. but i was reading the
instuctions and it stated.

persons premitted to reapply for admission without the i212

B.) prosons who voluntary departure from the united states without
expense to the united states government and without an order of
removal or deportation having been entered.

thank you for your input

Waaay over my head, pal. I just haven't paid much attention to the
waiver thingie. Ask Emily to call your lawyer in NY?

Try to enjoy yourself there. I know it's not ideal circumstances, but
think how many of us would love a chance to visit the island :) And, you
know it's only a visit. I'm sure you'll be 'home' in time for snow & be
cryin' the blues! :)
